The catch is that the People's Republic of Kalifornia prohibits gold ore processing (extraction of gold with cyanide), so you would have to mine the ore, then ship it to Nevada for extraction --> not profitable. That is why all the gold mines in Kali's gold country have been turned into tourist attractions rather than operating mines.


BTW, isn't 25,000 ounces pretty small for most commercial mines?

Doesn't quite make sense. There are 3 bedroom houses that are going for more than that in LA and San Fran!
